Per prima cosa è importante specificare che si tratta di smalti, nello specifico smalti bicomponenti, e non di normali pitture.
Di solito sono utilizzati per rendere più lucida la superficie della piastrella e renderne più brillanti i colori (con il tempo l'usura le rende più opache)

Molto importanti quando si parla di calcestruzzo armato sono le casseforme per il getto. Infatti, non si può adoperare un materiale di consistenza plastica senza una forma capace di contenerlo durante il processo di presa e di indurimento. Solitamente sono realizzate in legno, ma anche in metallo o plastica, e con la forma che dovrà assumere il calcestruzzo che sarà gettato al suo interno.
